LAWS OF THE NATURAL UNIVERSE

My dad emailed me these laws fo the natural universe. I thought they were cute, so I am sharing them.

Law of Mechanical Repair:
After your hands become coated with grease
your nose will begin
to itch or you'll have to pee.

Law of the Workshop:
Any tool, when dropped, will roll to the least
accessible corner.

Law of Probability:
The probability of being watched is directly
proportional to the
stupidity of your act.

Law of the Telephone:
When you dial a wrong number, you never get a
busy signal.

Law of the Alibi:
If you tell the boss you were late for work because
you had a flat
tire, the very next morning you will have a flat tire.

Variation Law:
If you change lines (or traffic lanes), the one you
were in will start
to move faster than the one you are in now. (works
every time)

Bath Theorem:
When the body is fully immersed in water, the telephone
rings.

Law of Close Encounters:
The probability of meeting someone you know
increases when you are with
someone you don't want to be seen with.

Law of the Result:
When you try to prove to someone that a machine
won't work, it will.

Law of Bio mechanics:
The severity of the itch is inversely
proportional to the reach.

Theatre Rule:
At any event, the people whose seats are furthest from
the aisle arrive
last.

Law of Coffee:
As soon as you sit down to a cup of hot coffee, your
boss will ask you
to do something which will last until the coffee is
cold.

Murphy's Law of Lockers:
If there are only two people in a locker
room, they will! have ad
jacent lockers.

Law of Dirty Rugs/Carpets:
The chances of an open-faced jelly
sandwich of landing face down on a
floor covering are directly
correlated to the newness and cost of the
carpet/rug.

Law of Location:
No matter where you go, there you are.

Law of Logical Argument:
Anything is possible if you don't know what
you are talking about.

Brown's Law:
If the shoe fits, it's really ugly.

Oliver's Law:
A closed mouth gathers no feet.

Wilson's Law:
As soon as you find a product that you really like,
they will stop
making it.

Wasabi Junction

Wasabi Junction:
Driving through Maryland, we saw a wind farm, and I thought it was beautiful...like a piece of art on the countryside. They are much more pleasing to the eye than oil drilling sites in my opinion.
And while we are talking politics...
What is up with Santorum advertising on television that he is anti-illegal immigration when he is President Bush's "yes" man, and supports everything the president proposes. And the president is following in his father's footsteps wanting to grant amnesty to illegal immigrants. We went through this same thing 2 decades ago. It failed then. And he wants to do it again? I called Santorum's office to object to illegal immigration, and Santorum's office told me that we need illegal immigrants for the economy. And now on commercials he is suddenly changing his tune? The commercial looks great, but since I had already brought up this issue with him before it was an election year, I know better than to believe his rhetoric.

Now this is where it gets interesting. I was told that my grandfather (Dale Main) was half Irish and half Iroquoi Indian, and that his grandfather was Cheif of Iroquois. His father married an Irish woman so he could not be Cheif. Yet Conrad's mother was born in England. And Conrad would be my grandfather's grandfather. Which means my grandfather cannot be half Iroquoi.

AOL News - Ex-Data Broker Stuns Lawmakers With Tales of Trickery: "Ex-Data Broker Stuns Lawmakers With Tales of Trickery"

A friend of mine emailed me the link to this story at http://articles.news.aol.com/news/article.adp?id=20060620055309990006&_ccc=5&cid=842 which tells about an ex-stockbroker up before Congress telling how easy it is identity theft is.

Concidering our credit information is in India and other countries where they run these call centers from, the threat is even worse. And in the U.S., credit information is extremely important and is used to base whether or not a person qualifies for a job, house, apartment, education, car, credit card, etc.

  19. I have a right to carve out my place in this world.

Petition

MSN Hotmail - Message

A few nights ago, my husband and I watched ABC evening news and was upset by a report of an illegal immigrant getting a scholarship to a private elementary school, and then into Princeton University. You see, there are only so many scholarships and so many students accepted, which means another student who was here legally did not get that spot. How in the world did someone get into Princeton without a social security number? He had to have had help, and he had to have cheated the system, and he gets accolades and rewarded for breaking the law. What kind of message does this send to others? That they can come hear, break our laws and cheat our system? That is why I was glad to sign the petition my dad emailed me.

Here is the petition that I signed and that you are welcome to copy, paste, sign, and send yourself:
